What types of vehicles can I donate?
We accept virtually all vehicles in any condition: cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, motorcycles, RVs, campers, boats, and even farm equipment. Running or not — we take them all.
Is there any cost to donate my car?
No. Towing is always free throughout the Triangle area. There are no hidden fees or charges.
How long does the process take?
Most donations are completed within 24-48 hours of your initial contact. We can often provide same-day pickup depending on your location and schedule.
Tax Deduction Questions
How much can I deduct on my taxes?
If your vehicle sells for more than $500, you can deduct the full sale price. If it sells for $500 or less, you can deduct the fair market value up to $500. We provide all necessary tax documentation.
When will I receive my tax receipt?
Tax documentation is typically mailed within 30 days of your donation. You'll receive IRS Form 1098-C for vehicles sold over $500.
Are all car donations tax deductible?
Yes, donations to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations like the charities we support are tax deductible. We ensure your donation meets all IRS requirements.
Pickup & Towing Questions
Do I need to be present for pickup?
Yes, you or an authorized representative must be present to sign the title and receive your temporary receipt.
What areas do you serve?
We provide free towing throughout the Triangle: Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Garner, Wake Forest, Morrisville, and surrounding areas.
What if my car doesn't run?
No problem. We accept non-running vehicles and have equipment to tow them safely.
Documentation Questions
What paperwork do I need?
You'll need the vehicle title signed over to us, a valid ID, and the keys. Don't have the title? Call us — we may be able to help.
What happens to my license plates?
Remove your license plates before pickup. In North Carolina, you can return them to the DMV or transfer them to another vehicle.
Do I need to notify the DMV?
We recommend notifying the NC DMV that you've donated the vehicle. We provide documentation to help with this process.
